Just a note to all the “well actually” people out there regarding this scene. People like to say “well actually, she was only able to kill him because Merry had already stabbed him with the magic blade that basically turned him mortal” or something along those lines. Well guess what? The blade in the movie is a nice blade, but there is no lore attached to it in movie canon. This scene was written for the girls. Get over it. This also implies that anyone who isn’t a man could have killed him.
