Republicans try to scare people away from universal healthcare in part by talking about now it would supposedly create long wait times for appointments. Has anyone tried getting an appointment with a specialist as a new patient lately? The system we have now isn't working.

Recently my dr discovered I had several bone spurs in my right foot. I was able to get into community care and get my surgery scheduled within less than a month this past summer. They deemed my surgery necessary as it affected my day to day living and work life. It’s really not as bad of a wait as most people think. I’ve been using the VA healthcare system since I was 21 and I’m 36 now.
