Attraction is easy. It’s not hard to get attention, especially if you check society’s boxes for what’s desirable. But attention ≠ connection. Just because someone wants you doesn’t mean they value you, understand you, or see the essence of who you are.

This is what I tried to explain to my gf when I met her. She said oh so you aren't attracted to me. Of course that wasn't true. She's very attractive in many many many ways. I've been told I wasn't straight before because I'm deep. But that's okay because I'm very secure in who I am! Some people just don't have depth and some it just takes time to fully understand you! I will say this, I've had better luck with non American women!

I recently saw someone talk about “ugly privilege” and I thought what in the world!?! She went on to say, she knows she’s pretty, but for most men, she isn’t. She doesn’t get unwanted attention, she gets left alone in public, and she never feels like someone just wants her for her appearance, her connections are genuine and that comes slightly easier knowing she’s not “conventionally pretty”. How sad and true all at the same time.

Agreed or the other one why don’t you have a boyfriend when you’re so pretty? Like it’s all down to being asthetically pleasing, there are SO many aspects to attraction but most importantly is recognizing similar souls which are very hard to come by
