Whilst this is true, my experience has told me that if you simply try and break up with them, they will guilt-trip you, love-bomb you or rage at you to try and make you stay. I don’t think that a narcissist mistreats you because they want the relationship to end. I think they mistreat you because they want the relationship to continue and for you to put up with ever increasing levels of mistreatment and abuse.
