I try to say “I’m from the US” when speaking with non-Americans in English. In other languages I speak, I just go with their terminology, or I say “I’m from the USA” Soy de Estados Unidos Sou norte-anericano Mwen soti Ozetazini Wo shi Meiguoren / 我是美国人 Sono degli Stati Uniti And sometimes: “I’m from Florida”…but that can open a whole nother can of worms😂

He’s an “Americano” but first and foremost he’s “Venezolano”. It’s also important to remember, Americans didn’t name themselves. The British were the ones to first refer to the colonials than lived in the “American colonies” as “Americans”. In almost a reversal, they were “British” but also “American”….
