Childcare in WI is unaffordable: The cost for a family to put an infant and 4 y.o. in daycare is more than double the cost of rent on a 2-bedroom apartment. Wisconsin can and should cut costs for thousands of families by implementing universal pre-K.

Here’s the kicker, I get paid 13.55 an hour. I had to drop out of college to work more and be able to afford paying for her daycare costs, and we get a 15% discount as employees. Nonetheless, I’m thankful to have a job I love going to and a safe establishment for my child. Many don’t have that. But more than half my paycheck?! Like damn 😭
