I walk down chestnut almost daily, it’s vibrant, lots of cute shops and restaurants, and haven’t seen a “junkie” in forever. Everything right after covid was decimated. Wild that you felt the need to tell your one single experience from years ago 🤣 and yes, I’ve lived here for 8 years.

I was just in SF at mission/market and the tenderloin for a conference and there were so many homeless people wandering around, saw drug deals, a man literally pooping on the sidewalk as we walked by (side note so much poop everywhere), people passed out on the street, people laying in flower beds laughing to themselves, multiple men wandering into the road like zombies, etc. not even exaggerating it was the most depressing thing I’ve seen in a while and felt extremely unsafe.

thats strange because Im there all the time and have never experienced any of this. most chaos Ive seen recently is the parrots squawking wt Ft Mason!

There are people doing drugs on the street in every major city. If that bothers you stay in the suburbs. Chestnut street is a pretty sleepy enclave compared to other parts of the city. Regardless I live in the Mission and it is great and thriving.

I walk on Chestnut almost every day, since I live around there. It's lively, full of busy stores and new restaurants. You need to revisit it. It is absolutely fine.

Yes I was there maybe a week ago, it was literally nothing like this. Tons of new restaurants, people everywhere, very lively.
