I am a special education aide. We get paid much less than teachers, but daily get to change diapers/menstral pads of students and are literally told that we “signed up for this” when we try to get help for combative students. Hitting, kicking and biting us has no consequence. Yet, we continue to come back day after day, hoping to make a difference in the children’s lives.
