Sadly it isn't possible anymore, only unambigious date format is YYYY-MM-DD

If i ask you your birthday do you say 5th of January 1990? Or Jan 5th 1990. Exactly. So mm/dd/yy is the only viable way. Anything else is just illogical.

No. Normal arrangement of magnitude is largest to smallest, so ISO 8601 is the only correct answer.
