Europeans are about to discover that if it fits that doesn’t mean it works with USB-C. Charging, data transmission, and video are all things that depend on the same-looking cable. It took me three tries to find cables and a hub that would charge my VR headset while I’m developing on it. I can’t imagine a non-technical person’s confusion when their laptop won’t turn on. My prediction: this will be a headache for many and another regulatory miss.

2 小時內	George M. george.m.en	I think the Europeeans will be just fine, as they’ve been using usb-c for most of their peripherals for some time time now, don’t you worry about them. Just because you had an issue, doesn’t mean there is an issue. Most usb-c ports support exactly what most of the market uses them for: power and data. If some device does not support one of these two, it’s either unnecessary, or malice (apple not supporting audio through their usbc port).

Two: the overwhelming majority of people will never need to know the various differences in cables. They will know that the heavy one charges their laptop, and the skinny one doesn't. Most people are only going to have a few cables. Three: it's still fucking better than allowing shit to still have micro or mini or any of the dozen other power cables.
