That's crazy that you think he'll demand (and expect to get) the AAV of the top paid QBs in the league (Dak at 60, others at 55). I expect him to be offered (and accept) the Daniel Jones 4 years, $160 mill contract, with an easy out after two seasons.

They paid Jj the rookie deal 20 whatever million total lol megabucks sam darnold will sign for less than that because he wants to win .

I'm willing to bet Darnold would rather play on a $35-40M 2 year contract with the Vikings than a $55-60M 2 year contract with the Giants, Raiders or Titans.

I don’t know whether the Vikings organization would do this, but they could apply the franchise tag and pay Darnold somewhere around $40 million next year. That would give them a year to see whether Darnold is just a one year wonder or is really the guy he has looked like this year. That would also let them see whether McCarthy shows signs of developing into a top quarterback. Then they could make a decision on which to go with for the future.

Their franchise tagging him. If he's a success, he gets a huge contract. If McCarthy is a success as well as Darnold, they could get a haul for either quarterback. If either flame out, they have Daniel Jones as a backup plan. They can't go wrong.
