Why does everyone want to sympathize with villains all the time?

Someone post the pic of “I hate rich people, causes flood that kills poor people” or something like that

I feel like they wanted to give him the freeze and ivy treatment (good ideas god awful execution due to mental impairment/illness) but fumbled seriously in the final act so no one including Batman can empathize and actually carry out a beneficial end result that helps people.

He was right, *IN THE WRONG WAYS* ie: innocents were/going to be murdered in the process of his crusade

Reality is villains are contradictory so yeah he'll murder some dudes for having their actions lead to kids deaths but he will then go on to kill a bunch of innocent people in the city.

It's the Marvel formula applied to DC. Take a villain who's based af and have them do something fucked in the 11th hour to justify their villainy and them being taken down.
