Guns don’t protect. If they did, home invasions in Texas wouldn’t exist. What Texas has instead is 1000s of people shooting themselves or their loved ones. You’re statistically sacrificing your safety by bringing a gun into your home.

Canada has always had a problem with cars being stolen goes back many years. How would you having a gun stop that?

A car is a thing. I’d hate the guilt I would carry if I shot someone. No guilt no soul.

Instead of the $$$ for guns why not install bollards that rise up behind your cars ? Cost is a bit more but they are there forever and never have to worry about them killing anyone 😉

I'm all for common sense gun control but despite having done all my training for even restricted weapons in Canada, I won't have a gun in my house. I used to shoot competitively and know how hard it is under stress to actually shoot accurately plus by the time you go to your gun safe, get your gun out, go to where your ammunition is, get that out, load your weapon and get mentally prepared to kill someone do you think any home invaders would still be hanging around waiting for you?

Home invasions are no more prevalent than any other crime. Put your car in your garage and you won’t have a problem. Do not keep a gun! Much easier solution.

I just looked up the stats on this, as a Canadian I have never heard the police instructing us to keep our keys near the front door. Home invasions have held steady at 23 per 100.000. It is difficult to compare as the US doesn't break it down the same way, there are 1.5 million home invasions yearly, with violent crime at 363.8 cases per 100,000.countries with the highest gun deaths per capita, Brazil, US, Mexico, India, Columbia, Venezuela. The US is the only developed country of the top 10.
