Am I crazy or is the home version of Wicked more color saturated? Maybe it’s my tv but it definitely seems more vibrant.

It’s the difference between the dynamic range of projection and the likely OLED you’re watching it on. If the picture mode of the TV is a Dolby (or cinematic) reference mode, you’re likely getting the colors the filmmakers intended.

Wicked was not unsaturated at the cinema as the internet lead me to believe. I think many theaters are just in piss poor shape without the care to make them better.

Either a lot of theaters don’t correctly calibrate their screens or they fixed it before they released jot to digital because everything was really grey when I saw it in theaters. The image here actually looks like a sunny day.

The short, basic answer is that most modern TVs are better than most theaters.

I just watched this video that explains this whole thing, but it's basically bad movie screens and old movie projectors. You could have 2 completely different experiences in 2 different theaters

It’s your tv, and the movie was intentionally unsaturated, GEESH

Hate to say it but you went to a bad theater with a bad screen I saw it in 4DX and the picture was phenomenal

Is it? Good because I was disappointed in the theater. All those pretty sets, costumes, and flowers seemed so shockingly dull compared to what I was expecting. I expected the colors to jump off the screen.
