Hey, friends! Theologian here. This is nonsense. Pretending to be persecuted is an excellent front for abuse and the usurpation of power. The only reason to fear being a religious minority is knowing how you’ve treated other religious minorities. So maybe instead of feigning persecution we focus on loving our neighbors and being known by our love. +T+

Jesus warns his disciples that they will be persecuted (John 15:18-25). It began with the stoning of Steven (documented in Acts 7) and continues to this day. Christians in North Korea, Somalia, and Pakistan (for example) have plenty of reason to fear being a religious minority, and it has nothing to do with their behavior to others.
