Let’s cover the basics for those who don’t know what 馬鹿 means. 馬鹿 means “Stupid” in Japanese, the two kanji are used for horse (馬） and deer(鹿）. While the use of the kanji looks symbolic, it is believed to be not related to those animals themselves. The etymology goes back to when we imported the idea of the language from India through the Chinese language. Apparently, In the Sanskrit language, there is a word “Moha” meaning very similar to 馬鹿.
