I've seen a lot of Black and various indigenous people ask the question "why are white people like this? Why did the Europeans end up as a warlike and ruthless people of conquerors, slavers and oppressors?" It is of course a super complicated thing to answer, but as a European with a degree in history, I'll try to give a short and simplified SoMe version.
