I visited the Philippines a few months ago, and I noticed a few things. 1. If you’re not dressed nicely or wearing makeup, many establishments will give you a judgmental look, as if you don’t belong there. For example, at a high-end coffee shop in BGC, the staff initially approached me in a dismissive manner. However, the moment I spoke with authority and in English, their tone and attitude shifted instantly—almost as if I had suddenly become worthy of their kindness. FilipinoThreads

Where I live, coffee shops are just that—places to grab a coffee and maybe a croissant without any expectation of dressing up. It’s a part of daily life, and there’s no pressure to look extravagant.
