Because choosing to distance yourself obviously means you have hatred/resentment in your heart and not that you're just tired and unwilling to deal with it anymore. But it's actually more than that, when you're on your spiritual journey you elevate and you create your own family. Your day to day is filled with so much joy and peace that it just doesn't fit anymore to go back and be verbally/emotionally abused by your family members. It just becomes unacceptable to you 2/3
