One of my most important takeaways from therapy was when my therapist told me “no one has the power to make you feel anything.”
Ever heard yourself say
“You made me [emotion] because [reason]” or “He/she made me feel so [emotion] when [reason].”
This really takes away your own power, putting you in a victim mindset. No one can make us feel angry, sad, or happy. If we are feeling those things that is a reflection of something going on within our own internal self that needs to be addressed.⬇️
