The Philippine bay leaf industry remains small-scale compared to Indonesia and Vietnam. While the Philippines produces bay leaves for local culinary its commercial production is not as extensive as Indonesia’s, which is the leading global supplier of Indonesian bay leaf . Vietnam also has a more developed spice industry, with a stronger export market. Limited cultivation, processing infrastructure, and export focus have kept the Philippines behind its regional competitors in the bay leaf trade
