Apparentlyyyyyy working the front desk at a medical office with 1,700 patients is “unskilled labor” and I shouldn’t be surprised they are offering $14/hr. Oh and it should be $12 an hour. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?! Do they truly and honestly not get how the world works? There are a shit ton of positions that go unnoticed but are needed for things to run smoothly. Also, why is it so unheard of to work 40 hours and be able to have a place to live and food to eat?! 🤬

I lived in Florida most of my life and I lived in Virginia for eight years in Virginia probably around 2002, I made $13 with experience an hour. I have watched it go down in Florida and Virginia. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Maybe if you have absolutely no experience you could make $14 but if you have experience, you need to at least make $20-25 somewhere between there per hour.

Also, I found out I was being paid less than my co-workers for the same job with the same training and when I asked for their pay, I was wrongfully terminated. It's wild the company thinks you are disposable when there is widespread shortages in medical staffing.

When you have "unskilled labour" working the front desk at a medical office, the patients suffer. $14/hour is insulting for such a position. I'm convinced that the ONLY reason someone would be willing to accept such low pay in the medical field is the same reason someone would accept such low pay in the law enforcement field; b/c they enjoy the bullying & the power trip more than anything else.
