i don’t understand . if a business is too broke to afford the ability to accept credit cards why don’t they just not accept credit cards or raise 10 cents to all their items to cover the cost without us feeling robbed by the business we are giving money to.

Unfortunately, greedy credit card companies continue to increase fees for processing payments for businesses and not every business can afford to cover that cost for every customer. And all of that money goes to the credit card companies. It doesn’t matter how profitable your business is, very few businesses can keep up with the rate that the CC companies are changing these fees. Also, for those saying it, it is inconsiderate to subtract the cost of this fee from your tip.

That'd be rather illegal in EU. No extra fee is allowed for paying with card.

One more reason to validate cash for purchasing. My hair gal stopped taking credit cards all together.
